Dear TryHardians,
We love the engagement and dedication the community has shown so far. We are proud of what we have achieved up until this point and are grateful to you all for your feedback and your support. We know you guys and girls are eager for some juicy updates, so we decided to give you a small glimpse of what’s cooking behind the scenes at TryHards. Here’s an update on how we are converting our 2D art, as seen on our NFTs, into the final 3D graphics which you will be able to enjoy once the game releases in Q1 2022.
Converting 2D or concept art into 3D is not as simple as it sounds. Our 2D art was based on the lore of the TryHards universe and then brought to life by our amazing artists. We worked hard to make our Fanatics and Weapons look unique and diverse, and to make them look good as NFTs. Now, we are working with extremely talented game designers to ensure that we convert our NFT art into awesome, dynamic 3D characters. In order to achieve that, we need to explore different options and variations so we can find the optimal design, in terms of proportions, color scheme, detail, etc.

After finding the most appropriate 2D models, they are ready to be transformed into their 3D form. First, this is done in a neutral gray, without the final colors, to ensure that the proportions are correct and feasible for the game’s camera system. Once that’s done, we can finally instill them with the colors that will make the TryHards Universe so vibrant!

So, in short, the process of designing our Fanatics and Weapons is as follows:
- Character design and first 2D art for NFTs
- In-game concept art
- Color scheme and character proportion optimization for the camera system
- Initial 3D modeling and fine-tuning for coloring
- Initial color 3D models
- Final details
